exblosive wear (not bear)

christopher kane's first ever resort collection features prints of nuclear explosions. WOW. i read that he found the images on the UK Ministry of Defense website. i love them really. the images are really pretty. though i have to say i am a little disappointed in the shape of the dresses. and the overall lack of blue that seems to make the third dress on the right really exceptional. there's not enough blue and too much mustard. wow i hate mustard. i think that's why i hated louis vuitton spring '09 so much. not that i like louis vuitton really in any way. but mustard! why?

the dress in the middle on the bottom row, the "shrapnel" dress with the swatches of silk is really beautiful. i like how he expanded on the whole war theme. but everything is all really delicate. and the crinkly leather zip off/on jackets! i love them! it seems a lot of people who are making clothing nowadays are on some sort of hunt for the craziest print they can find and manipulate it in a really subversive way. but i wonder if this is just a weird strain of that lightning bolt fascination everyone had last year.

i knew i wanted christopher kane when i first saw a photo of this jacket in i-d magazine last year! it makes me feel really girly inside:
